Power Door is the only known manufacturer of vertical
lift doors in the world to include a revolutionary lifting
cable safety device in each door panel
of multi-section vertical lift door assemblies.
All
other vertical lift door manufacturers either have no
safety devises at all, or only include safety devices
in the lower (bottom) panel. In the best case scenario
this assumes that only the cables in the lower panels
can break and cause damage, which is totally untrue.
Electric
Power Door's revolutionary and unique cable safety device
has been designed, tested, and proven to be the safest
cable safety device available for vertical lift doors
in today's marketplace. The safety devices
are electrically connected to the door's control panel
and prevent powered operation of the door whenever they
detect abnormal conditions in the lifting cables. In
most cases the early detection of a pending failure
allows the doors lifting system to be inspected and
repaired before an actual failure occurs.
In
addition to the electronic safety interlock, EPD provides
each door panel with
(2) mechanical emergency stop devices that are located
next to each of the vertical door track guide angles.
Each of the stopping devices is capable of clamping
onto the guide angle to impede the downward free-fall
of the panel if there is a break in the lifting cable
or its attachment to the door panel.
- Each
of the safety catches in the upper door panels grab
the guide angle in two places whenever failure in
the lifting systems occurs. The safety catches in
the lowest panel provide three grabbing points for
additional safety assurance.
- Each
of the safety catch devices are designed with provisions
allowing them to be manually reset after the failed
part has been replaced.
- The
safety catch device has been factory tested multiple
times and the tests have been verified by an independent
testing laboratory.
